Justice lost in the post

A tsunami of media coverage of ‘The Post Office Scandal’ has flooded across the UK, and now the world, since the ITV drama. But we mustn’t forget those publications that moved this story forward in the early years. Credit for that goes principally to Computer Weekly and to Private Eye. Both publications braved ferocious attempts to force their editors to drop their investigations and their about-to-be-published stories. Both publications have frequently revisited the story, and have certainly been keeping the heat under it for over a decade. The attached Private Eye article, penned by Richard Brooks and Nick Wallis, is a great example. Published back in May of 2020, it was pivotally important… and is well worth re-reading.
